Questions related to the YSR program and OSAP

How will this program affect my OSAP status/eligibility?

If you are taking courses at York and Seneca, the total credit load will be between 33-36 credits for the year, which makes you eligible for OSAP.

Some tips on applying for OSAP:

Obtain documentation of your ‘full time’ status from the YSR Program Assistant, email by sending an email request for a letter of confirmation.

We recommend that students awaiting OSAP pay Seneca Registration the registration fee minimum (an enrollment deposit of approximately $400) along with a $65 deferral fee upfront. This will allow students to register for their Seneca subjects before the first class. Students should get the $400 back when they receive their OSAP payment. This will also save the student from paying late fees. Once students have paid this deposit they will be given a receipt which they can take to York OSAP.

Students cannot apply to York OSAP until they register into the Seneca subjects.

More tips on how to ensure the OSAP payments are processed properly will be provided at the information session for students.
